01

Who this notice is from

This notice explains how Solar Brook Valley handles personal information that reaches us through this website, by email or by phone. It is written for people who are thinking about a rooftop solar survey, a battery retrofit or a maintenance visit, and for anyone who simply reads our notes. If something here is unclear, write to us at the address in the last section.

02

What we receive

The website itself does not ask you to register and does not keep visitor profiles. What we receive is limited to what you choose to send: usually a name, an email address, a phone number if you add one, and a message that often includes the location and type of your property and what you would like to achieve. Please keep the first message short and leave out identity numbers, bank details and electricity contract numbers; if we need any of them later for a quote or an application, we will ask for them then.

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages may keep ordinary technical logs, for example the network address and the time of a request. We do not use analytics tools on this website and we do not build profiles of visitors.

03

How the contact form works

The forms on this website are email forms. When you press the button, the website does not send anything to a server of ours. Instead it opens a draft in the email program on your own device, filled with what you typed. Nothing leaves your device until you press Send in that program, and the message then travels through your email provider and ours. The website does not store your entries, and a draft that you never send does not reach us.

The checkbox next to the button confirms that you have read this notice. It is not a contract, and ticking it does not oblige you to anything.

04

What we use it for

We use what you send to read and answer your message, to arrange a site survey if you ask for one, to prepare an estimate or a quote, to keep a record of our correspondence about your property, and to meet legal and accounting obligations if a contract follows. We do not use it for advertising and we do not add you to mailing lists you did not ask for.

05

Cookies and local storage

This website sets one cookie, and only if you click OK on the notice at the top of the page. The cookie is called gn, holds the value seen, applies to the whole site, is sent back only to this website (SameSite Lax) and lasts about 400 days. It exists so that the notice does not appear again, and it identifies no one. There are no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, and the pages do not use local storage.

You can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings. The only consequence is that the notice appears again on your next visit.

06

Who else sees your information

We do not sell personal information and we do not pass it on for marketing. Your email travels through the email services involved, which handle it only to deliver it. If your project needs a third party, for example the power company for a grid-connection application or an electrician who will visit, we give them only what that step requires and we tell you when we do.

We would also disclose information where a law or a binding order from a court or authority requires it.

07

Links to other websites

Some pages link to official or manufacturer websites, such as the site of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy. Those sites have their own notices and their own cookies, and we have no control over them.

08

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with your matter and, where a contract follows, for the period that legal and accounting rules require. When it is no longer needed, we delete it. If you want something deleted earlier, tell us (see the section on your rights).

09

Security

We take reasonable care of what we receive: mail is kept in our mailbox, access is limited to the people who answer enquiries, and we do not publish what you send. Ordinary email is not a secure channel, though, which is one more reason to keep sensitive details out of the first message.

10

Your rights

Under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information you may ask us to disclose the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, and to delete it or stop using it in the cases the Act provides for. Write to the email address below and say what you would like. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will answer within a reasonable time.

11

Children

The website is meant for property owners and is not aimed at children. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us.

12

Changes to this notice

When our practices change, for example if the forms are connected to a different system, we will update this page and the date at the top. The cookie and form descriptions above match the website as published on that date.
